Fiction, Meet History: Bringing the Past to Life

Lauren Willig, Mariah Frederick, and Rochelle Alers transport readers to vividly imagined historical worlds. Willig reimagines a famous 1800s trial as Law & Order meets Hamilton and Burr investigating a shocking murder; Frederick unravels the 1920 murder of gambler Joseph Elwell with Zelda Fitzgerald at the center; and Alers chronicles the coming-of-age of three young men on New York City’s Upper West Side across the tumultuous 1960s–80s. Together, they explore justice, scandal, and the human stories hidden in history.
